Happy Halloween and a little Project Life® by Stampin' Up!

Wow, it's been a busy few days for me and this weekend is not going to slow down a bit!  How about you?  Busy?  I was in charge of the Halloween Party for my son's first grade class yesterday and what a way to begin my Halloween fun that was.  I am already tired.  Sixteen sugar-high children will do that to you, I guess.  LOL.  Today we are to go Trick-Or-Treating and somehow it went from 80+ degrees on Monday to a whopping HIGH of 47 for today.  Oh well, at least it not going to be raining (or snowing for that matter)--got to see the silver lining.  :)

Since I was speaking of being busy I thought I would share a great quick video on
Project Life by Stampin' Up!

I have actually been a little intimidated by this Project Life "stuff" but, I am going to give it a whirl.  Why not, right?!  Check out this fun video.  It looks sooo easy!  This is the kit that I am going to start with.  What are your thoughts?  Look at how many cute cards she goes through at the beginning of this video!  I want those.  :)  So, today I am ordering.  How about you?  Wanna try this along with me?  Place your order right HERE in my store!  If you have questions I am here to help anytime.  Just ask!

Let's see what kind of wonderful memories we can create for our awesome books!

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!!

Snowman Gift Card Holder with Popcorn!

Hi there!!  Today I am showing you another craft show item that I have created.  I remember seeing this project a few years ago.  I didn't go looking for it this year I just went with my memory and I like my results.  Kudos to the original creator!

This little cutie started out as a Jiffy Pop Popcorn (see picture you remember these??).  We had these as kids and I remember thinking how neat it was to "pop" our popcorn on the stove!  Who wouldn't like to receive this little guy with a BONUS gift card "popped" onto the back (sorry, couldn't resist the pun).  :)

I won't get into too many details.  I have to go get some things finished for my son's Halloween Party that I am in charge of for TOMORROW.  Eeek.  Time is flying!

Basic Directions:
  • I traced the circle (the popcorn container) onto Whisper White cardstock however, when went to cut, I cut inside my line because it has to fit inside the black container.
  • I used Basic Black to create his hat in two pieces (one for the brim and one for the top).
  • I punched Basic Black circles to create his eyes and mouth.
  • I cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock into a triangle for his nose.  I sponged around that piece with Pumpkin Pie ink.
  • Using Real Red cardstock I punched a few berries and sponged Real Red ink around them.
  • I punched two large ovals out of Old Olive cardstock and then used a circle punch to create the holly.  I sponged Old Olive ink around the holly for some dimension.
  • Lastly, I created a little pouch for a gift card out of Real Red cardstock.
Once I finished all five of the Snowman Gift Card Holder I realized that maybe placing the gift card on the "butt" of the gift might not have been the brightest thing to do.  Remember, if your recipient is actually planning on making their popcorn they HAVE TO REMOVE THE PAPER!!  Ooops.  It's super cute though, right?!  Right?  Please tell me that it's cute.  :)

You might think about creating a different little pouch that you could TIE onto the handle if you try this one at home.  Just thought I would share!

Have a great day everyone!!  Thank you so much for coming by today!

Snowmen Ornament; NEW Weekly Deals

Hello!  Today I am sharing another ornament that I recently created.  This time I used a retired stamp (I don't have the name, I only have this one stamp from the set).  I *love* all snowmen and these little guys (and girls) are no exception!  So fun and cute!!

Just like the last ornament I showed you, I stamped my image with my Jet Black Stazon and colored it in with Sharpies.  That's it.  I tied some pretty ribbons to the top to create my hanger.

I stamped all of my ornaments this year with this cute little "made for you by me" stamp from the Everyday Occasions Cardmaking Kit.  In the past I have used a personalized stamp that I have with my name on it but this stamps so much nicer on these ornaments.  It follows the Stampin' Up! Angel Policy (you must use a stamp with the © Stampin' Up! line if you are selling items created with SU! stamps).

Here is the view of the back of the ornament.  I finished my ornaments off by placing them into 6" x 8" cellophane bags that Stampin' Up! carries.  Of course, I add a bit more ribbon to the close them up.

I hope that you enjoyed today's project!  Speaking of which, did you see yesterday's Reindeer Food project? CLICK HERE to view yesterday's post (with VIDEO).

Gift Card Holders

The season is quickly approaching and soon you will be looking for cute gift card holders and great packaging ideas, right?!  I love to give my little gifts in totally cute packaging!  Giving a gift card as a gift may feel like your cheating but, the recipient will love that they can go get exactly what they want.

You can create cute gift card holders with the time you will save by not having to spend trying to pick out the perfect gift!

For today's project you will have to forgive me for using products that are retired through Stampin' Up! but, I am busy creating for an upcoming craft show so, I am using up some great papers in my collection!  The Stocking Die was offered last year through Stampin' Up!.  You can create your own template if you do not have this die.

I used designer paper for the front, Very Vanilla cardstock for the backs (which I just used my liquid glue to attach), and a very sparkly piece of the Silver Glimmer Paper for the tops of all of the stockings.

Sponging a bit of Soft Suede ink around all of my bits and pieces really helps to make it "pop".  I used some brown felt ribbon for my hanger.  Using a crop-a-dial I punched a hole through the ribbon and the top of the stocking and used a brad to attach to the stocking.  I also hot glued retired felt pieces over the brads for adding decoration.

I hope that you enjoyed today's project and you are beginning to think of ways to create your own cute packages this holiday season!  Let me know if I can help you!
